I Think of the Good We Have
Lost [2:03] Written by Frank Trujillo
[Music: Lament by Ron Cooley] (SESAC)
Spoken by Maribel Schwall
I think of the good we have lost—I think
of the cost to humanity. It is all so senseless—I think of the loss. I know a loving God will take care of
them. I think of the good, the
incalculable good, they would have done the world. Oh, the irreparable cost of every soul so wantonly lost! I worry for the others, the relatives and
friends… Fathers, Mothers…. Others in
whom the greater part of a living something also has died. I think of hope lying there, shattered—of
comfort, of peace, forever lost. Of a
piece of Life’s puzzle forever lost.
It is one thing to go naturally; quite
another to die before ones time is due.
Little wonder that from space the world is blue.
I think of the
good we have lost—I think of the cost.
Every loss diminishes the world.
We dare not ever forget. We must
pledge to do better by them. Somehow,
we must cause it to be—that they have not died in vain.
You and I will see them again. Yes, I know we shall see them again.
