What’s the CD About?

The CD traces it’s beginnings to the April 19, 1999 school shootings at Columbine High School in Littleton, Colorado.  So, in one way, the CD is about Littleton.  But in so many other ways it is about so much more.  As stated by Frank Trujillo, in Track 3, “A Journey Into Your Heart,”

This is about tiny babies they find in Dumpsters and 11-year-olds bringing guns to school.  It is about intolerance and racial hatred.  It is  about church arsons and synagogue fire-bombings.

This is about all of  us standing around while innocent children all around the world die of  malnutrition and childhood disease—an estimated 40,000 every day of the year, 1,600 every hour.  While we in the affluent world continue to set records for wastefulness and extravagance.

This is about American teens receiving a weekly allowance in excess of $60, on average—along with everything else children here have come to see as an entitlement.  Seems the only thing American parents do not give their children is time…

This is a kind of a wake-up call, an examination of personal negligence within our web of relationships; it is a look at our selfish ways, and at our, oh, so mixed-up priorities.

Oh, yes…the CD is most definitely that—a wake-up call.  It is so uniquely different, so provocative, so truthful, so compelling… frankly, no American household should be without it.

We took the plain, unadulterated truth…and, courageously, we put it on an CD.  And now we double dare you to listen to it.  And then to take it and share it with someone you love.
